JACKSON -- Jackson Jaycees are hard at work on their plans to make the Fourth of July festive.
The celebration will be held in the Jackson City Park.
A highlight of the celebration will be the mud volleyball tournament, which begins at 8 a.m. Registration deadline is June 26, and participation is limited to the first 48 teams signed up.
Teams are limited to eight players, with six on the field and two alternates. One female must be on the playing field at all times.
Entry fee is $50 and must be paid at the time of registration. Trophies and prize money will be awarded to teams finishing first, second and third.

The Jaycees will also host their third annual craft fair as part of the July 4 celebration.
Anyone interested in having a craft booth should call Sherri Smith, 243-3462, for a registration form.
Cars and trucks from all over the area will be on exhibit during the festivities. This year's show will include several motorcycle divisions and a tractor class. Anyone interested in displaying their vehicles should contact Vince Martin, 243-5443.
Registration for people wishing to operate food stands is also open. Call Tamie McClain, 243-5414, for more information.
Jackson Jaycees are also holding a raffle, with proceeds to go to the fireworks display. Tickets are available from any Jaycee member or at the Jackson Wal-Mart.
Other activities planned for the day long celebration include water melon and pie-eating contests, magic shows, a horseshoe tournament, a municipal band concert and a fireworks show.
