Janet Daehnert

Janet Ruth Daehnert, 86, of Marble Hill passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, at StoneBridge Senior Living. She was born March 21, 1937, to Robert and Doris Newton in Dayton, Ohio. She was a high school graduate of Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas.

On Feb. 1, 1958, Janet and Donald Daehnert were united in marriage in Corpus Christi. Janet worked as a housewife and homemaker for their entire marriage together, and they raised two children: Denise and Dianna Lynn. Donald preceded her in death in 2012.

Janet was a socialite. She enjoyed spending time talking to anyone, and she loved to crochet with her friends at the senior center. She was a great friend to those who needed someone, and the best mother to her children anyone could ask for.

Survivors include two daughters, Denise (Mike) Dillinger and D. Lynn (Greg) Godert; sister, Miriam McDowell; two grandchildren, Mandy (Ben) Wallace and Michael (Tiffany) Daehnert; and four great-grandchildren, Journie Wallace, Deacon Wallace, Leum Daehnert and Grayson Daehnert.

A memorial service was held Thursday, Jan. 4, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
