Jackson's skate park to open with ceremony

The official grand opening ceremony for Jackson's skate park will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. The ceremony will include a skateboard demonstration and opportunities to sign up for skate clinics and lessons. Lucas Beine of Jackson will give roller-blading clinics. A lunch will be served at 11 a.m. and attendance prizes will be given out all morning. Helmets and protective gear will be given away. The skate park, which has been popular since the equipment was installed a few weeks ago, is located on West Independence Street across from the Jackson Elks Lodge.
