JACKSON -- A 21-year-old Jackson woman was injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident 3 miles west of Jackson.

Tammy L. Clayton was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau after the 3:40 p.m. accident on state Highway 72.

The other driver was Sherman F. Starkey, 56, of Sedgewickville. He was not injured.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when Clayton's vehicle was slowing to make a left turn into a private drive and was struck in the rear by a truck driven by Starkey.
