Jackson residents will be urged to tidy up the town this week, during the annual Spring Clean Up Program.
The Jackson Sanitation Department will pick up trash placed at the curb on the regular trash pick-up day.
The refuse must be placed at the curbside by 8 a.m. of one's regular collection day. Containers must meet weight requirements, with no more than 60 pounds and grass leaves and yard waste must be bagged and kept separately. Brush and limbs need to be tied in bundles, not to exceed 60 pounds.
No motor oils will be collected and only residential customers may take part. Tires and paint will be picked up, as well as refrigerators, freezers and air conditioner. They must be gas-free with compressor and doors removed. Only one appliance per household will be picked up free. Additional ones will be picked up for a $10 charge.
Normal collection times may vary during the week, but refuse must be at the curbs by 8 a.m. No return trips will be made.
