JACKSON -- The Southeast Missourian's Jackson U.S.A. Signal will become a weekly publication this weekend.
Starting Sunday, approximately 10,000 Southeast Missourian subscribers in Jackson, Fruitland, Gordonville and portions of the rural Cape Girardeau and New Hamburg areas will receive the Jackson U.S.A. weekly. Non-subscribers in the Jackson area will receive the newspaper.
The weekly format comes in response to requests from readers and advertisers of Jackson U.S.A., which previously was a monthly publication. Advertising rates are designed to enable businesses to target their sales efforts toward that local market.
The public is encouraged to contribute story ideas, personal items, photographs and other items of interests, such as notices for charity events and activities. These may be submitted at the Southeast Missourian's Jackson office, 104 S. Hope St., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Additional information is available by calling 243-6635.
Strengthening the Southeast Missourian's commitment to enable advertisers to pinpoint specific audiences, the Jackson U.S.A. Signal will complement the Scott County Signal, which is published each Sunday, with a combination paid and total market coverage.
The addition of these two publications with extended markets Sunday will allow advertisers to reach wider markets within the retail trade zone on a weekend. The Southeast Missourian's Plus edition is available in these areas each Wednesday.
Members of the Jackson U.S.A. Signal staff are Pat Zellmer, director; Marvin Wormington, sales manager; Cathy Smith, office manager; John Hodges, account executive; Joel Vinson, editor; Malcolm Ringo, reporter; and Becky Heneisen of Jackson, special assignments.
