City officials will unveil a new sanitation building Monday, meaning the sanitation department's trucks will now have a shelter. The six trucks have been parked outside since the May 6, 2003, tornado that destroyed the old building. The facility has 7,500 square feet of floor space for truck parking, storage, offices and a break room. It is located at 510 Eastview Court near the recycling center. The building cost roughly $181,000. Klusner Concreters of Kelso installed the concrete for $40,781. Penzel Construction built the facility for $139,734. City employees from various departments constructed the inner room, installed flooring, lighting, plumbing and heating and also painted the interior.
