The trash-collection schedule for the city of Jackson will be altered in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

According to a news release issued by Rodney Bollinger, director of Public Works, the sanitation department will not be in operation Nov. 28 and 29. Trash that would normally be collected on Thursday or Friday will be picked up Dec. 2. Trash that is collected on Monday and Tuesday will instead be picked up Dec. 3. The recycling center and yard waste pits will also be closed Nov. 28 and 29, the release said.
