JACKSON -- Jackson Transfer Co., Highway 72 West, has aligned with a major trucker, Beaufort Transfer, to retain a local truck terminal in Jackson.
The alignment was worked out through the company's previous affiliate, Elfrink Truck Lines, decision to end local terminal service, said Jackson Transfer owner David Moll.
"Beaufort serves the entire state of Missouri and agrees that a Jackson terminal would best serve the varying needs of the town," he said. "Both companies feel strongly that Jackson is a growing economic force in the state and deserves a local terminal dedicated to the needs of its customers."
Jackson Transfer has been in business here for 25 years. Beaufort is the largest carrier based in Missouri.
