The city of Jackson will host its annual E-Cycle event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 25 at 508 Eastview Court. The event gives citizens and businesses from Cape Girardeau County an opportunity to dispose of unwanted or unusable electronic items, small and large appliances and other metal objects.

A grant awarded to Midwest Recycling Center will cover the collection fees for computer monitors and up to three televisions per household, allowing participants to dispose of materials at no charge. Nonresidents will be charged $10 per television. M&J Shredding will be available from 9 a.m. to noon to offer on-site shredding services for Jackson residents at no charge. Jackson's solid-waste customers should dispose of their recyclable electronics at this event, as they will no longer be picked up curbside on Clean Up/Fix Up Week.
