The city of Jackson has begun accepting bids for the upgrade of its water system and will do so until 10 a.m. June 24.
The Water System Facility Plan Implementation Project will affect about 9,700 feet of water-main construction.
Much of the project will entail installation of 8-inch water mains on about a half-dozen city streets.
Project Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office electronically upon payment of a $25 non-refundable fee for each set.
Bids should be submitted with a bid bond, certified check or cashier’s check for not less than 5 percent of the bid amount to city administrator Jim Roach’s office in a sealed envelope.
Proposals will be opened publicly and read aloud in the Jackson city administrator’s office.
