Jackson Middle School students recently took part in Lake Day at Cape County Park North.
The eight stations taught students how to fillet a fish, how to identify a fish's internal organs, how to bait a fishhook and how to catch a fish. Fishing rods and bait were provided.
The Missouri Conservation Department Office was the scavenger hunt leg of the students' adventure, and students were asked questions about what they saw during a tour of the building.
The purpose of the questionnaire for the tour was to make students look at the things they were walking past. These were some sample clues: This snake is one of five poisonous snakes found in Missouri. It prefers rocky hillsides and looks like copper.
