JACKSON -- Len Waldron, an honor student at Jackson High School, has been awarded a four-year Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) Scholarship to the university of his choice.
Waldron has enrolled at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. and plans to begin classes there this fall.
In addition to the Army ROTC scholarship, Waldron will receive an additional annual scholarship from the University of Miami, in the amount of $5,000 per year.
Waldron is treasurer of the Student Council at Jackson High School. He is involved in the speech-debate team, Students Against Driving Drunk, Just Say No, Varsity Club, History Club, the Senior Steering Committee and National Honor Society. He is also a peer tutor, an Eagle Scout and a four-year letterman and state qualifier in wrestling.
He is the son of Kenneth and Norma Waldron of Jackson.
