JACKSON - The Jacksonian chapter of the American Business Women's Association will sponsor a Jackson school board candidates forum at 7 p.m. Monday at R.O. Hawkins Junior High School Library on West Lane.

Nine candidates are competing for three seats that will be filled April 6. Because of legislation approved last year by the General Assembly, school boards in Missouri are being enlarged from six to seven. Instead of two, three candidates will be elected to the board next month.

The candidates include two board members who are seeking re-election: Darrell Hanschen and T. Wayne Lewis; and Mark Martin, Kelle A. Lane, David L. Seabaugh, Vicky McDowell, Wendy Hayes, Robert A. Francis and Charles Englehart.

ABW spokesperson Debbie Noland said each candidate will make an opening statement and answer questions from the audience. The moderator is Pearla Murphy.

Baby-sitting will be available at the school. Following the forum, refreshments and cookies will be served.
