Southeast Convenient Care Clinic was on lockdown, and East Elementary School did not allow students outside in response to a police incident at 2 p.m. Thursday in Jackson.
Jackson schools associate superintendent Wade Bartels said police had tried to conduct a stop, and a suspect wearing a red shirt had run away on foot. Jackson police could not be reached for comment.
“It was just a precaution,” Bartels said.
Southeast Hospital marketing director Sally Owen said the clinic was on lockdown from 2 to 2:30 p.m. at the request of Jackson police.
“This is standard protocol,” Owen said.
