JACKSON, Mo. -- Newly elected member Jim Woeltje assumed his seat on the Jackson Board of Education during a reorganizational meeting held Tuesday night.
Voters elected Woeltje, a former principal in the district for many years, and incumbent Gerald Adams during elections last week. School boards must meet within a week of municipal elections each April to accept election results and elect new officers.
Adams, who began his second term in office, was elected president of the school board, replacing long-time member Dr. T. Wayne Lewis. Members elected Brent Wills vice president of the board, Vicky McDowell was elected secretary, and Darrell Hanschen assumed the position of treasurer.
