JACKSON -- Dr. T. Wayne Lewis, president of the Jackson R-2 Board of Education, has achieved the advanced certification designation in the Missouri School Boards Association's Certified Board Member Program.
The program is designed to equip school board members with the knowledge and skills needed to function as effective education leaders in their communities. School board members achieve certification by completing a series of professional development activities in several areas. The areas include board operations, policy making, goal setting and others.
The MSBA is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to help school board members carry out their responsibilities and to advance the improvement of public education in Missouri.
