JACKSON -- School board candidates for the Jackson R-2 School District will face off from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Jackson High School library.
The three candidates, incumbents Marvin Adams and Jeanette Bollinger, and challenger Jewell Beauchamp, plan to participate in Meet the School Board Candidate, a forum sponsored yearly by the Jacksonian Chapter of the American Business Women's Association to help voters make informed school board choices.
The moderator will be Suzanna Baylon, news reporter for KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau.
The ABWA has sponosed the event for five years, even in years where only incumbents ran. President Saundra Perry said the forum is important to her group because it is part of ABWA's pledge to provide better education for women.
Baylon's questions will come from registered voters in the district, who are invited to attend. Voters may ask questions directly after the moderator is finished.
"We already have had a lot of good questions come in from the community," Perry said.
Refreshments will be served following the event. Those with any questions they would like to have addressed should contact Perry at 651-3566 or Pearla Murphy at 243-5349.
