A man accused of quarreling with a neighbor while holding a knife was bound over to Circuit Court for felony unlawful use of a weapon.

Darrell D. Helderman 44, of 927 W. Independence St. in Jackson, taunted a neighbor to come outside to settle an argument Aug. 21, according to police.

During the taunting, the neighbor claimed Helderman was holding a bone-handled knife, a probable cause statement read. No weapon was ever found. The men were quarreling about a physical fight their sons had the previous weekend.

Helderman, also charged with misdemeanor peace disturbance, waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday and was scheduled to appear in Circuit Court Nov. 6.
