The Jackson Public Works Department has announced that Recycling Center hours will change for Saturdays in the fall and winter. The Jackson Public Works Department has announced that Recycling Center hours will change for Saturdays in the fall and winter.

The Recycling Center, 508 Eastview Court, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays beginning Nov. 2, according to a news release from Rodney Miller, public works director. The reduced hours of operation will run through March 30. The center will continue to be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 2, the release said.

The release said recyclables collected at the center include cardboard; newspaper; magazines; office paper; junk mail; Styrofoam; grocery bags; clear, green and brown glass; all plastic containers; aluminum, tin and steel cans; batteries; and electronic waste.

There is no longer a $10 charge per computer monitor, and customers may now drop off monitors at the Recycling Center for free. However, a fee of $15 will continue to apply for televisions, the release said.
