The Jackson Public Works Department has announced that Recycling Center hours will change for Saturdays in the fall and winter.
The Recycling Center, 508 Eastview Court, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays beginning Nov. 2, according to a news release from Rodney Miller, public works director. The reduced hours of operation will run through March 30. The center will continue to be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 2, the release said.
The release said recyclables collected at the center include cardboard; newspaper; magazines; office paper; junk mail; Styrofoam; grocery bags; clear, green and brown glass; all plastic containers; aluminum, tin and steel cans; batteries; and electronic waste.
There is no longer a $10 charge per computer monitor, and customers may now drop off monitors at the Recycling Center for free. However, a fee of $15 will continue to apply for televisions, the release said.
