JACKSON - The Jackson chapter of the American Business Women's Association will sponsor a "Meet the School Board Candidates" forum Monday at 7 p.m. in the R.O. Hawkins Junior High School Library, 200 North West Lane.
Voters in the Jackson R-2 School District are urged to attend the forum to learn more about the candidates and their views on the issues that face the school district, a chapter spokesman said.
Each candidate will be given five minutes to present his or her platform. That will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
Three candidates have filed for two three-year terms on the board. They are J. Alan Crites and incumbents Jack Knowlan Jr. and board President Larry Koenig.
Two candidates have filed for the one-year unexpired term of former board member Nancy Schafer. They are Ronald L. Obermann and Jeanette Bollinger.
The election will be held on April 2.
