The Jackson Ministerial Alliance (JMA) Food Pantry located in Cox Memorial Hall (South High Street) serves families of all sizes in Cape Girardeau County (outside the city limits of Cape Girardeau) to provide food to those in need.

The JMA food pantry helps over 50 families each month. Please consider helping this vital ministry for our community. Also, substitute volunteers are needed to help in the food pantry which is open Mondays and Thursdays 9-11 a.m. and 1 -3 p.m. For information, call Kim Martin at New McKendree church office - 243-8487.

With the holidays approaching, the need for food increases. Items that the volunteers give out frequently are: cans of meat, chili, beef stew, chicken and dumplings, hot and cold cereal, pancake mix and syrup, sugar, flour, peanut butter, cooking oil, dry milk, juice, diapers (medium and large), bleach, dishwashing detergent, toilet tissue, and laundry detergent.

These items have to be purchased by the Ministerial Alliance and they cost from $800 to $1,000 monthly.

The Boy Scout Drive will be taking place soon. They will hang their sacks on our doors on Nov. 11 and will be picking up the filled sacks on Nov. 18. Think about placing one or more of the above items in this sack. All food, however, is appreciated. The food collected by the Boy Scouts is shared between the Senior Citizens' Center in Jackson and the Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry.

If your sack is not picked up on Nov. 18, please bring it to Cox Hall or place in the box provided in the Fellowship Hall (first floor) of New McKendree Church.
