A Jackson man accused of soliciting sex over the Internet with what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl will stand trial in Mississippi County, Circuit Judge Ben Lewis ruled Monday.
Irvin E. Holderbaugh, 40, of 924 E. Independence St., was granted a change of venue during a brief hearing before Lewis.
Holderbaugh was arrested March 11 in Jackson's City Park. He is accused of arranging to meet who he believed to be a 14-year-old girl who was actually a Bollinger County police officer posing as a teenager.
Holderbaugh is accused of attempted statutory rape. No court date in Mississippi County has been set.
