A Jackson man received a summons after allegedly mistaking two Cape Girardeau women for prostitutes.

Timothy W. Overturf, 33, allegedly approached two women from his vehicle in the 1000 block of William Street and asked them for a sexual act, Cape Girardeau police spokesman Darin Hickey said. The women rejected his proposal, and he drove away.

Police took the vehicle's description from the women and located the vehicle. The two women identified Overturf as the man who had solicited them.

Overturf received a summons for patronizing prostitution.
