BARNHART, Mo. -- A Jackson man was injured Thursday morning when his vehicle hit a rock bluff off Interstate 55. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jeremy W. Rodgers, 19, was driving his 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche southbound on the interstate around 5:40 a.m. when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. The Avalanche then struck a rock bluff.

Rogers and passenger Tracy D. Stratford, 51, of Columbus, Ohio, were treated for moderate injuries at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Both men were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident, the highway patrol said.
