Jackson man gets prison term on meth charge

A Jackson, Mo., man was sentenced in federal court Monday to four years in prison on a felony methamphetamine manufacturing charge.

Danny Moll, 31, admitted that, between July 1999 and May 2000, he and Deborah Ing regularly produced meth. His role was to obtain pseudoephedrine pills, an ingredient in meth, on at least 30 occasions.

Officers arrested Moll and Ing in May 2000 at a hotel room meth lab in Marion, Ill. Ing was sentenced on March 4 to 11 years and three months in prison, and another person involved in the meth-making, Wesley Ing, was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Also in federal court Monday, Craig D. Marks, 23, of Sikeston, Mo., pleaded guilty to one felony count of being a previously convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

On Feb. 24, 2000, Sikeston police tried to arrest Marks, but he ran through a Ruth Street home carrying a semiautomatic pistol. He discarded the gun as he ran out the back of the home.

The gun had been stolen from Harrisburg, Ill.

Marks' previous conviction was for assault in 1997.

He faces a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 12.
