The site that was designed by University Computers, a company made up of former Jackson residents now Washington University students. Jon Mark Milde, Chris Dittmer and Kevin Goodier worked with the Jackson City Council and the Jackson Chamber of Commerce to design a site on the World Wide Web.
Jeff Moore, Jackson Chamber of Commerce president, was very important in the development of this site, Mayor Paul Sander said.
People who visit the site will get a great deal of information on the city.
The original plan for the site was to promote industrial development for the city.
"We wanted to use this site as an industrial development tool to show everyone who used it what Jackson has to offer," Sander said.
But the site and its definition have expanded since its early conception in January.
Since its introduction in May there have been more than 700 hits on the incomplete site. Today the site was scheduled for completion.
"The one thing we feel like we can do better in the future is in industrial development and retail business," Sander said.
"We hope this web page can assist us in that endeavor," he added.
