CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The stage is set with clowns, games and prizes for the second annual Children's Fun Fest Saturday at the R.O. Hawkins Junior High School in Jackson.

The event, hosted by the Jacksonian Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association, runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Several local businesses and agencies have designed games and activity booths for parents and young children to enjoy together.

Children can make financial deals at a bank and then groom and plume at a beauty-barber shop. They can go fishing and then participate in a gambling game at the Magic Color Wheel or Lucky Duck Lane.

There is also a dress up booth with fancy clothes, a ring toss, a bean bag throw, a face-painter and a gypsy fortune teller.

Officers from the Jackson Police Department will fingerprint children. Jackson firefighters will demonstrate their firefighting equipment and talk to children about fire safety. Smokey the Bear will be on hand also to talk with children and pose for photographs.

VFW members, participating in the organization's Light a Bike campaign, will apply reflectors to children's bicycles free of charge.
