The Jackson Homecomers Celebration will begin at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 19 with a welcome by Mayor Paul Sander and the Jackson Municipal Band. Aug. 19

7:30 p.m.: Solo or group vocal acts, ages 13 to 21.

Aug. 20

6:30 p.m.: Solo or group vocal acts, ages 6 to 13. 9 p.m.: entertainment by The Country Touch band. 10 p.m.: American Legion attendance prizes.

6:30 p.m.: Dancing or other groups or solo acts, ages 6 to 12 or 13 to 21. First-, second-, third- and fourth-place winners will be honored in each division nightly. 9 p.m.: Entertainment by The Country Touch band. 10 p.m.: American Legion attendance prizes.

Aug. 22

6:30 p.m.: Winners and runners-up may compete. Winners on finals nights will receive prizes. The overall winner of the 13 to 21 age group will be invited to the Youth Talent Contest at the MidSouth Fair in Memphis, Tenn. A representative from the MidSouth Fair will be in Jackson on finals night and may invite others to participate in the talent contest at MidSouth Fair. 8:30 p.m.: Entertainment by the band Coyote Creek. 10:30 p.m.: American Legion attendance prizes.

Aug. 23

5 p.m.: Gospel music. 8 p.m.: The Homecomers Queen Contest will be held on stage in front of the courthouse. Open to all girls entering 11th or 12th grade during the 2003-2004 school year. The Homecomers Queen and runners-up will receive gifts and prizes donated by local merchants. 10:30 p.m.: American Legion grand prize drawing.

Entry forms for the talent show or queen contest may be picked up at the Jackson Chamber of Commerce office, 125 E. Main St. or by calling 243-8131. Talent show entry deadline is Aug. 12. Queen Contest entry deadline is Aug. 16. Participation in both is on a first-come, first-served basis. No entry fees apply to either.
