JACKSON -- The Jackson High School instrumental department will hold its annual spring concert Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
Both the concert band and the symphonic band will be featured.
The concert band, directed by Scott Vangilder and Pat Schwent, will perform "Chesford Portrait," the British march "Glory," a new composition for concert band entitled "In All Its Glory," and a collection of songs from "The Phantom of the Opera."
The symphonic band, which received straight one ratings for the 20th consecutive year at district contest, will be conducted by Nick Leist.
The band will perform "Irish Tune from County Derry," popularly knows as "Danny Boy," a new overture for concert band "Manatee Lyric Overture," one of the band's contest pieces, "Choral and Shaker Dance," and a medley of songs from the film "Robin Hood," including "Prince of Thieves," "Everything I Do, I Do it for You," "The Abduction," and "The Final Battle at the Gallows."
The concert is open to the public and free.
