Jackson girl dies in motorcycle accident

An accident on Highway 72 proved fatal for a Jackson girl on Sunday.

At around 12:10 p.m. Sunday, authorities responded to a head-on collision on Highway 72 in Millersville.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports website, Harvey E. Wood, 46, of Jackson was traveling northbound in his 2001 Dodge when he collided with a southbound 2001 Honda motorcycle driven by Natalie A. Wood, 10, also of Jackson.

Corey D. Harrison, a passenger from Washington, Mo., in the 2001 Dodge, was transported by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, where he was treated for moderate injuries. Natalie Wood was pronounced dead at 5:10 p.m. Sunday at Saint Francis Medical Center.
