Jackson residents in widely scattered parts of the city awoke to messy cars Saturday following a series of egging incidents, the Jackson Police Department reported.

In all, 10 separate eggings, some found by officers investigating initial vandalism calls, were reported. Investigators have few clues to the vandalism incidents, Lt. Rodney Barnes said Monday.

"We will be forwarding copies of all the reports to school resource officers," Barnes said. "Generally in cases like these, juveniles are suspected. It is nothing out of the ordinary and we have sporadic incidents like this from time to time."

The reports included three incidents on Springview Drive on the west side of Jackson, two in the area just north of Brookside Park, two in the central part of town along Washington Street and N. Neal Street, and three further east, with two on Shannon Court and one on Cedar Street.

A majority of the vandalism incidents involved cars, Barnes said.

Since all of the incidents took place on the same night, investigators assume the same vandals are responsible for all the incidents, Barnes said.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is continuing, Barnes said.
