The Jackson Lady Indians stride towards their goal of a state championship by taking it one game at a time.

Coach Ron Cook's philosophy is to take it one game at a time and never overlook any opponent and try to improve from the first game to the last game of the season.

"I feel confidence in this team. We've had a couple of losses, but you learn from these losses," Cook said.

"It shows us that we have to work a little harder," he added.

The Lady Indians are (9-2) so far this season. They have had some close wins that were good learning experiences for them as well.

"We still have a tough schedule this year," Cook said.

Jackson still has to play Perryville and Cape Central, both tough opponents of whom they beat earlier in the season.

The well balanced attack of the Lady Indians is anchored by their good defense and ability to knock down free throws.

Michelle Milham (#32) has started for the past three years. Won all-state honors last year and second team all-state honors her sophomore year. Coach Cook looks to her and Shannon Perry (#44) for team leadership.

Perry (8 ppg/5 rpg) is a 15 foot and in shooter, while Milham (13 ppg/8rpg) can score from long range or from the paint.

Perry was a second team all-state player last year.

Christa Milham (#10) is a good penetrating guard who can score or dish off on the penetration.

Milham (11 ppg/5 rpg) leads the team in assists from the point guard spot.

When Jackson needs a long bomb from 3-point territory they call on Dana Eakins (#24).

Eakins (6 ppg) starts at the two guard position for the Lady Indians.

Mindy Myers (#22) is a penetrating forward who can shoot the three or come inside.

Myers (5 ppg) is a second year starter for Coach Cook.

When Coach Cook needs help from the bench he's got plenty to choose from.

Chrissi Glastetter (#20) is the first off the bench for the Lady Indians. Glastetter (5 ppg/4 rpg) has played solid coming off the bench.

Dana Littlepage (soph.), Amanda Ellis (junior), Amanda Williams (junior) and Heidi Matthews (senior) provide Coach Cook with a talented bench that can come in and play effectively against the competition.

Jamie Heitz (soph.) has also played with the varsity team at times this season.
