In anticipation of oncoming winter weather, Jackson city officials have issued a snow-route proclamation effective 9 p.m. today.
It states residents who have vehicles parked on designated snow routes in Jackson have seven hours to move vehicles off the street or to a non-designated snow route to allow city crews to plow the entire length of the roadway.
After 9 p.m., vehicles that are not moved may be ticketed or towed to allow for plowing.
The snow proclamation is over once the storm ends, roads have been cleared and the city has notified media outlets the snow proclamation has concluded.
Vehicles parked in the uptown historic district do not need to be moved. However, any motor vehicle, motorcycle, trailer or other object is prohibited on the snow routes.
Streets not designated as snow routes will be cleared according to protocol established by the street department. Both Missouri Department of Transportation and city of Jackson crews will be working to clear state and city roads.
The following snow routes are as follows:
*Except any portion inside the boundaries of the Jackson Uptown Historic District.
