Southeast Missourian
Mykah Bryan of Sikeston, Mo., was recently crowned Miss Homecomers 2004 during Jackson Homecomers.
Miss Missouri Whitney Weeks played host to the competition that was open to all girls in junior and senior high school during the 2004-2005 academic year. Bryan is a 17-year-old junior at Sikeston High School. First runner up was Corrie Gerecke of Cape Girardeau and second runner up was Kara Thompson of Jackson. Leslie Shain of Jackson was selected by other contestants as Miss Congeniality.
The Heartland Talent Show finals resulted in the following junior division winners (ages 6 to 12): First place, Nifty Fifties, vocal duo by Myriah Miller and Jackie Bader; second place, Trio con Brio, by Steven Schott, Kayla Essner and Kaitlyn Robinson; and third place, Baby I'm a Star dance group.
Senior division winners (ages 13 to 21) included Jordan Cox, first place, vocal solo; Andi Sheeter, second place, dance solo; Adam Reinagel, third place, vocal solo; and Samantha Gross, fourth place, vocal solo.
