JACKSON -- Jackson residents won't see any new names on the ballot when they vote for four aldermen and mayor April 1. All five incumbents will run unopposed.

Mayor Paul Sander filed for his third term. Sander served seven years as an alderman before being elected mayor in 1993.

Sander is the fourth generation of his family to hold public office. His great-grandfather was a county commissioner in the 1920s, his grandfather was mayor of Jackson and later a county commissioner in the 1940s, and his father was a county commissioner from 1972-92.

On the Board of Aldermen, Ward 1 Alderman David Hitt filed for his third term, Ward 3 Alderman Val Tuschhoff for her fourth term, and Ward 4 Alderman Jack Piepenbrok for his sixth.

Ward 2 Alderman Kerry Hoffman will run for his first full two-year term. He was appointed to fill a one-year unexpired term in 1995.
