The Jackson Board of Aldermen will hold two public hearings at Mondays regular meeting.
On the agenda: one hearing to consider a special-use permit request for a doggy day care at 608 Rosamund St., and the second to consider proposed 2018 property-tax rates.
The doggy day care requires a special-use permit because it is too close to an adjacent residential area the citys code requires the business to be located 50 feet from the nearest residential district, and the proposed doggy day care would be 49.5 feet away, according to city documents.
The permit application moved from the planning and zoning commission with a positive recommendation.
As for proposed property-tax rates for 2018, per $100 property valuation, they are as follows (in cents):
Tax rates are the same as 2017s rates, city clerk Liza Walker said when reached by phone Friday.
Citizens may be heard on either subject beginning at 6 p.m. Monday at Jackson City Hall, 101 Court St.
