The Jackson Board of Aldermen will tabulate bids for an additional electric transmission line during today's study session. Jackson Mayor Barbara Lohr said the line is needed because the city's current transmission line becomes overloaded, especially during extreme weather conditions.
Also during the meeting aldermen will consider a central business district street closure request from the American Legion for Homecomers 2011. Lohr said this was important because it gives proof the celebration will remain in the uptown district, as opposed to moving to the city park.
