Jackson Board of Aldermen action 8/5/03

Changed the regular Board of Aldermen meeting date from Monday, Sept. 1, 2003 to Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003 in observance of Labor Day.

Accepted the audit report for the year ending Dec. 31, 2002, as prepared by Beussink, Hey and Roe, certified public accountants.

Approved Change Order No. 1 to Shultz Engineering Services, Inc., of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and increasing the contract sum by $18,490, relative to the 34.5 kV intertie line, phase 2 project.

Readopted Article VII, chapter 2 of the Code of Ordinances.

Approved the voluntary annexation of 4.36 acres of property along Bramblewood Drive, as submitted by Gerald and Catherine Stoverink.

Approved the rezoning of 4.36 acres of property in Rosewood Estates 6th Subdivision from R-1 (single family residential district) to R-2 (single family residential, as submitted by Gerald and Catherine Stoverink.

Approved the final plat of Independence Center Phase 1 subdivision.

Tabled a motion on the abandonment of East Madison Street between the northeast corner of the property described in the land records of the Recorder of Deeds of Cape Girardeau County, Mo., at Book 453, page 261, easterly to the Jackson, Gordonville and Delta Railroad Company property, as requested by the Immaculate Conception Church.

Tabled a motion on the abandonment of South Ohio Street between East Madison Street and East Monroe Street.

Amended the stop street schedule by adding a stop sign on Lewis Drive at Broadridge Drive.
