Power and light committee

* Accepted the bid of Element 74 of Cape Girardeau in the amount of $11,755 regarding the city's Web page redesign project.

* Authorized the conveyance and acceptance of general warranty deeds to and from Transelectric Inc. of Jackson.

* Re-adopted Chapter 1, Article VIII of the code of ordinances.

* Tabled a special-use permit for a seasonal portable advertising sign at Illers' Berry Farm at 2589 S. Hope St.

* Set a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 to consider the rezoning of about two acres of property at 243 County Road 318 from R-2 district to C-2 district, as submitted by Gregory Abbott.

* Approved task order authorization No. 06-15 to Koehler Engineering and Land Surveying Inc. of Cape Girardeau in the amount of $6,380 for the South Old Orchard Road corridor study.

* Waived clean-up fees in the amount of $2,025 to the American Legion Post 158 regarding the 2006 annual Homecomers Celebration.

* Approved a cost participation agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for the construction of a storm water junction box along the West Jackson Boulevard four-lane parkway improvement project, phase two.

* Authorized amendment 1 to a contractual agreement with Smith and Co. Engineers of Poplar Bluff, Mo., for the East Main Street Extension project.

Amendments

* Accepted the bid of Fronabarger Concreters, Inc., of Oak Ridge, in the amount of $135,205, relative to the 2006 Concrete Street Repair project.

* Authorized a contractual agreement with Fronabarger Concreters Inc. regarding the 2006 Concrete Street Repair Project.
