* Held a hearing to consider the proposed vacation of a portion of the West Monroe Street public right of way, as requested by the Reorganized School District of Cape Girardeau County.

* Held a hearing to consider a special-use permit request for an oversized attached sign, in a C-2 (general commercial) district located at 1820 Old Toll Road, as submitted by Kenneth and Jacqueline Robertson.

* Held a hearing to consider the city's application to the state of Missouri under the Community Development Block Grant Program.

Power and light committee

* Authorized payment in the amount of $7,800, to Koehler Engineering and Land Surveying Inc., of Cape Girardeau, regarding engineering services for the Brookside Baseball Facility Project.

* Approved an application to the state of Missouri regarding the Community Development Block Grant Program.

* Accepted the dedication of a water line easement deed from Canyon Construction and Development LLC.

* Considered the acquisition of easements regarding the Ridgewoods Subdivision Sanitary Sewer District Project.

Street committee

* Supported to the city's application to the Missouri Department of Transportation, through the On-System Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Program, regarding the East Main Street Bridge of Goose Creek improvement project.

* Approved the closure of South High Street between Madison and Monroe streets, from 8 to 11 a.m. May 29, and authorizing the use of loudspeakers for the American Legion Memorial Day Service.

* Approved the final plat of Nine Oaks Second Subdivision, as submitted by B&R Developers Inc., Ronald and Marcia Clark and Bobby and Jane Clark.

* Approved the final plat of Terrace Park Estates Subdivision, as submitted by Donkers Inc.

* Accepted the dedication of a storm water detention basin and access easement deed from A & T Development LLC.

* Added stop sign designations on East Deerwood Drive, West Deerwood Drive, Terrace Park Place, Fieldstone Way, English Ivy Lane and Prairie View Trail.

* Prohibited parking on certain streets by adding designations on Terrace Park Place, Fieldstone Way, English Ivy Lane, Prairie View Trail, Harmony Lane and Zschille Road.
