Jackson Board of Aldermen Action
Power and Light Committee
* Accepted the bid of Floyd and Sons Tree Service of Cape Girardeau in the amount of $72,750, relative to the 2006 electric distribution tree trimming program.
* Authorized a contractual agreement with Floyd and Sons Tree Service, relative to providing services under the 2006 electric distribution tree trimming program.
* Accepted the dedication of sanitary sewer easement deeds from Godfrey and Irene Stier and Wayne and Delena Maupin, relative to the Williams Creek (west) Interceptor Sewer Project-Reach B.
* Authorized an amendatory agreement between Southwestern Power Administration and the city of Jackson, relative to reservation capacity in Southwestern's system.
Street Committee
* Set a public hearing for 7:30 p.m. on April 17, to consider the proposed abandonment of a portion of the West Jefferson Street right of way, as requested by the Jackson R-2 School District.
* Approved the closure of Barton Street between East Main and East Washington streets from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 27 for the 100-mile yard sale, as requested by the Jackson Chamber of Commerce.
* Approved the rezoning of 0.45 acres of property addressed 2950 Old Toll Road, from R-2 (single-family residential) District to C-2 (general commercial) District, and 1.74 acres of property addressed as 2950 Old Toll Road, from C-2 (general commercial) District to I-1 (light industrial) District, as submitted by Chug and Julie Crites.
* Amended the "stop street schedule - schedule VI," by adding a stop street designation on West Main Street.
* Amended the "stop street schedule - schedule VI," by adding stop street designations on Crown Pointe Circle and Hawthorne Drive.
* Amended the "parking prohibited at all times on certain streets schedule - schedule IX," by repealing a no-parking designation on North Georgia Street.
* Approved the voluntary annexation of 9.87 acres of property (to be known as East Ridge Place Subdivision), as submitted by P.B. Properties LLC.
* Approved the preliminary plat of East Ride Place Subdivision, as submitted by P.B. Properties LLC.
* Approved the final plat of Parkview Terrace Subdivision, phase II, as submitted by Diamond K Development LLC.
* Passed a resolution stating the intention of the city of Jackson, concerning the construction of utilities and the use of right of way along property belonging to Randy and Larry Reutzel.
