Public hearings

* Held a hearing to consider the rezoning request for 15.14 acres of property (known as a portion of the future East Ridge Place Subdivision), from R-2 (single-family residential) District to R-1 (single-family residential) District, as submitted by P.B. Properties LLC.

* Held a hearing to consider the proposed vacation of a portion of the West Jefferson Street right-of-way, as requested by the Jackson School District.

* Accepted the dedication of sanitary sewer easement deeds from Howard and Sherron Alexander, and Walter and Carol Kutscher, relative to the Williams Creek (west) Interceptor Sewer Project - Reach B.

* Vacated a lift station easement in Green Meadows 2nd Subdivision, relative to the Williams Creek (west) Interceptor Sewer Project - Reach B.

Street committee

* Set a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. May 15 to consider a special-use permit request for an oversized attached sign, located at 1820 Old Toll Road, in a C-2 (general commercial) District, as submitted by Kenneth and Jacqueline Robertson.

* Authorized the closure of certain streets in the Central Business District, beginning at 9 p.m. on July 25 and ending on July 29, relative to the annual Homecomers celebration.

* Approved the rezoning of 15.14 acres of property (known as a portion of the future East Ridge Place Subdivision), from R-2 (single family residential) District to R-1 (single family residential) District, as submitted by P.B. Properties LLC.

* Approved the vacation of a portion of the West Jefferson Street right-of-way, as requested by the Jackson School District.

* Amended the "stop street schedule - schedule VI," by adding stop street signs on Shalom Street, Shalom Circle and Cathy Drive.
