* Held a public hearing to consider the rezoning of certain properties along West Jackson Boulevard under the West Jackson Boulevard comprehensive rezoning project, Phase 2.

* Approved to set the annual city Christmas party for Dec. 9.

* Approved a petition and authorized the engineer to prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates for the Ridgewoods Subdivision sanitary sewer project.

* Authorized payment of $15,600, to Allen and Hoshall of Memphis, Tenn., for engineering services under the 12.47 kV underground electric distribution system project.

* Authorized payment of $3,350 to Koehler Engineering and Land Surveying Inc. of Cape Girardeau for engineering services under the 34.5 kV transmission line (Wedekind Substation to East Main Street) project.

* Accepted the bid of Otis Elevator Co., of St. Louis, Mo., in the amount of $57,589 for the city hall elevator modernization project.

* Authorized a contractual agreement with Otis Elevator Co., regarding the city hall elevator modernization project.

* Accepted the dedication of a sanitary sewer easement deed from Michael L. and Kathleen C. McMillan.

* Accepting the dedication of right of way deeds, a sanitary easement deed and temporary construction easement deeds from the Steven W. and Patti J. Jones Trust for the East Main Street extension project and the Williams Creek (West) interceptor sewer project -- Reach B.

Street Committee

* Authorized the closure of certain streets in the central business district at 5 p.m. on Nov. 11 for the annual Veteran's Day parade.

* Authorized the closure of certain streets at 2 p.m. on Dec. 3 for annual Christmas parade.

* Approved the preliminary plat of Cold Creek Estates Subdivision as submitted by A & T Development LLC.

* Approved the preliminary plat of Nine Oaks Second Subdivision as submitted by Ron and Bobby Clark.

* Authorized paying $23,700 to Strickland Engineering of Jackson for providing engineering services under the East Jackson Boulevard streetscape lighting project.

* Approved the rezoning of approximately 37.5 acres of property in Terrace Park Estates Subdivision, from R-1 (single family residential) district and R-2 (single family residential) district to R-2 (single family residential district), R-3 (one-and-two family residential) district and C-2 (general commercial) district, as submitted by Donkers Inc.

* Approved an ordinance designating the street name of Hunter Drive.

* Approved an ordinance vacating portions of the public right of ways of West Madison Street and South Russell Street, as requested by the Reorganized School District R-2.

* Approved an ordinance amending the "One Way Streets Schedule-Schedule I" by repealing one way street designations on West Madison, West Jefferson and Colorado streets.

* Approved an ordinance amending the "Parking Prohibited At All Times On Certain Streets Schedule --- Schedule IX" by adding parking prohibited designations on Colorado Street and West Madison Street.

* Approved an ordinance amending the "Stop Street Schedule -- Schedule VI" by adding a stop designation on Hunter Drive.

* Approved an ordinance authorizing a contractual agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for transportation enhancement funding for the Oak Street recreation trail project.
