-- Approved an ordinance authorizing the issuance of $565,000 principal amount of Combined Waterworks and Sewerage System Refunding Revenue Bonds, Series 1998, of the City of Jackson.

-- Approved an ordinance authorizing the issuance of $960,000 principal amount of Electric System Refunding Revenue Bonds, Series 1998, of the City of Jackson.

-- Authorized payment of Jackson Missouri Electric System Refunding Revenue Bonds, Series 1991, due Jan. 1, 1998, of $200,000 principal and $35,213.76 interest.

-- Authorized advertisement for bids for drilling of well.

-- Authorized final payment in the amount of $15,202.28 to Monroe Plumbing and Heating Co., Inc., under the Water Line Extension Phase IV Project contract.

Street Committee

-- Approved a motion committing to the construction of Main Street from Shawnee to the eastern boundary of the Keith Haynes property, funding construction from the Transportation Tax Fund and letting the contract no later than calendar year 1998. The motion authorized the city engineer to prepare right of way descriptions and construction plans by June 1, 1998.

-- Approved a motion committing transportation tax funds to construct Main Street from Oak Hill Street to a proposed intersection at I-55 to be completed in conjunction with the construction of a new I-55 exchange with Main Street, the construction to be completed at city cost with property owners donating necessary right of way. The motion directed the city engineer to prepare right of way descriptions and construction by Jan. 1, 1999.

-- Tabled an ordinance accepting dedication of a construction easement from Southeast Missouri Medical Center, Inc.
