The Jackson Municipal Band will hold its weekly concert Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Band Shell in the City Park.

Special guest is Robyn Hosp, who has been singing professionally for the past 15 years. She has performed in Nashville as a soloist and with various groups.

Hosp has made several appearances on local TV stations, and she performed as a regular with the Port Cape Dinner Theater group. Her program will consist of several contemporary gospel numbers and other favorites.

The band's portion will have a special emphasis on patriotic numbers, including Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever."

The band also will provide patriotic music prior to the fireworks display Saturday at the Jackson City Park bandshell. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. and conclude at 9:15.

Special guests for the concert will be the mother and son duo of Marlene and David Creech and Waterstreet 6.

Marlene Creech is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and has served as music instructor for both the Chaffee and Woodland school districts. David Creech is a graduate of Southeast, and has performed with the Missouri All-State choir.

They will perform "One Moment in Time," "Let Me Be There," "Danny Boy," and a medley of patriotic songs.

Waterstreet 6 is a professional Dixieland group that regularly meets riverboats as they dock in Cape Girardeau.

The band's portion of the concert will consist primarily of patriotic numbers.
