JACKSON -- The Jackson Municipal Band will hold its final concert on Thursday at 8 p.m. at the gazebo on the courthouse lawn.

Special guest for the concert will be Julie Walker. She will perform several original compositions and accompany herself on the guitar.

A native of Webster Groves, she is a 1980 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. While in college, she performed with the University Choir, starred in several musicals, and sang in various ensembles.

After graduation, she taught in Waventon for eight years and has remained musically active by directly her church choir, singing for weddings, rotary clubs, nursing homes and various other civic ceremonies.

She and her husband, David, who is administrator of the Jackson Manor, have three children.

The band's portion of the concert will include: Holst's "2nd Suite in F," "They're Playing Our Song," "Stars and Stripes Forever," "Johnson Rag," and "Beer Barrel Polka." Pat Schwent will perform the saxophone feature "Misty."

Concertgoers are asked to bring their lawn chairs to enjoy this final concert of the 1992 season.
