Matt Schwartz holds the structure that will hold QSC Wideline-8 Touring Line Array speakers as Everett Hinze welds the structure into place atop the Jackson band shell Monday morning in Jackson City Park. A crane lifted the 500-pound structure to the top of the band shell. It will hold the 540-pound custom weatherized speakers. Unity Pro Audio and Video started the design of the speaker system in October. The speakers are expected to arrive in May. The Jackson Municipal Band will kick off the band shell concert series June 7, with the Southeast Missouri State Steel Drum Band as an opening act.
