Country Music Television announced Tuesday that the John D. Hale Band of Jackson has moved on to round two of the channel's online "Music City Madness" contest. The Hale Band is one of 32 unsigned country acts to move on to round two. Sixty-four acts started the competition Feb. 13.

The Hale Band will now be pitted against Buncombe Turnpike of Asheville, N.C. Visitors to the contest site can view videos by competing bands and vote for their favorite at www.madness.cmt.com. The current round of voting will continue through Monday, with round two winners announced Tuesday. The winner of the contest will tape an episode of the CMT online program "Studio 330 Sessions."

Dexter, Mo., native Candy Coburn did not reach round two.
