Property tax rates in Jackson will remain the same for the year 2009.
During its Monday meeting, the Jackson Board of Aldermen unanimously approved the action.
"We felt there wasn't a need for an increase from 2008," said Larry Koenig, Jackson assistant city administrator. "We felt the current rates were adequate and didn't need to be raised when we did a calculation for them."
Each tax rate is expressed in cents per $100 assessed valuation of the property.
